ABOUT CBAVC
Cambodian Buddhist Association for Vulnerable Children (CBAVC) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established by a group of volunteers, Cambodian Buddhist monks and friends of Wat Polangka in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The organization was founded in 2012 with the purposes of improving access to education and living condition of families in need by providing clean water wells, toilet facilities, secure houses, and rural agriculture development project by improving small infrastructure and new irrigation systems in community, including constructing dams and water ponds, cows and pigs raising project for families in rural areas of Cambodia.
To do this local and international staff and volunteers bring their experience of areas such as agronomy, health, social policy, and education to help those affected to reintegrate into the local community and help themselves.
CBAVC, in partnership with the local authorities and other NGOs, will help respond to the needs of these families to help alleviate trauma and vulnerability which are daily threats to their livelihoods. To do this we are encouraging their full participation in efforts to conserve the environment and national heritage; reduce and eliminate domestic violence, child trafficking, poverty and illiteracy in line with the policies of the Royal Government. Our most important task is to increase the opportunity for children from this area to grow up well educated and most importantly with a strong moral mind so that they can build lasting peace and prosperity in our society.
